Ozobot can be used in two different ways. The first is as a line-tracking robot that responds to black, red, blue, and green colour codes to perform a variety of moves like turning, switching paths, and doing spins. Ozobot can also be programmed using a tiered block-based programming language that is similar to Scratch. Ozo can follow paths, sense obstacles, play a song, and put on a light show.
This 1/2 day professional development activity is designed for Grade 3-4 classroom teachers. The opportunity is open only to teachers of the Saskatoon Public School Division, Greater Saskatoon Catholic School Division, Prairie Spirit School Division, and Saskatoon Tribal Council.
During the in-service classroom kits and curricular activities will be introduced to teachers for use in their classrooms. Kits will then be made available to teachers who have received this training.
